5 Steps To Improve Your Confidence
Every new client I get I ask them what their goals are and the answers are always pretty similar. “I want a flatter stomach”, “toned thighs”, “smaller waist”, “toned arms”, “perkier bum”, you get the picture. However, true these answers may be, they’re not what they really want, what they are really saying is “I want to be more confident".
The real reason you want these goals is to feel more confident in your own skin, in that new dress you bought, taking your top off at the beach and in the bedroom. This is the main reason people want to make a change in their body, they don’t necessarily want to have an amazing body they just want more confidence, and by achieving a better physique you achieve greater confidence.
So here are 5 steps to start feeling more confident.
Start Lifting Weights - Training with weights will not only increase your strength but also improve your shape and physique. The stronger you are the more confident you will be, not only mentally but also more confident in certain tasks you may come up against. And for your physique I don’t need to sit here and tell you why that boosts your confidence. When you look better your confidence sky rockets.
Eat a Healthier Diet - If you start eating a healthier diet I guarantee you will lose weight. Changing your usual high processed and unnatural foods to non processed and natural foods will not only save you a heap of calories but also make you feel better. When your body is running off of better energy sources you feel better, you have greater energy, you feel less hungry and your mood improves. You will also start to lose body fat to, again this will massively increase your confidence and compliment your hard work in the gym.
Start Pushing Yourself - There is no greater feeling than accomplishing something you didn’t think you could do. When you push yourself and achieve something you never have before a sudden rush of endorphins hit you and you feel great. If you stay in your comfort zone you will never boost your confidence, it doesn’t have to be gym related. Go to those dance lessons you’ve always been to scared to do, sign up to that course you have always put off, once you do you will feel much better for doing it than you did putting it off, therefore increasing your confidence.
Be Positive - Too many people are too hard and negative on themselves these days, this destroys your confidence. If you are constantly telling yourself you can’t do something, or something is too hard what do you think this is doing to your self belief. If you are trying to lose weight, be confident you can do it, don’t let the word “fail” even enter your mind. If you want something bad enough you’ll achieve it, so tell yourself you can and then go and get it.
Set Up Small Wins - If you have a big goal like losing 3 stone you are going to be waiting a very long time until you are celebrating. You may have lost 1 stone but your still not celebrating because your still far from your goal. Instead set your goal to lose 1lb then another and the another, this way you are going to be celebrating 40 times not once. That's 40 confidence boosters not 1-2 years of feeling like you’ve not achieved your goals.
I hope these tips help bring you more confidence into your life, I have suffered with low confidence before and its not nice. If you follow these steps I guarantee your confidence will improve.
